UFC Show Package Composited at Logan by danny princz

This is an edit of many of the elements we produced for the UFC on FOX show package

I had the pleasure of working with a great team at Logan on this project.

The majority of the shots were composited by myself and eric concepcion
The CG was done in maya, rendered out as multichannel EXRs and composited in after effects in 32 bit float.

All the lighting effects, environments, and atmospherics were created in after effects

MOTEL 6 “Metamorphosis”

Motel 6 and The Richards Group recently joined forces with production company King and Country (K&C) to create a :30 commercial that debuted as the centerpiece of a cross-media campaign celebrating the brand’s 50th anniversary. The spot takes us on a classic family road trip that spans 50 years. Rick Gledhill directed for K&C. This spot was completed start to finish all in house at K&C – production, direction, editorial, animation, and VFX.

The Art of Film & TV Title Design

The credits are often the first thing we see when we watch a great film or TV show, but the complexity and artistry of title design is rarely discussed. Creators of title sequences are tasked to invent concepts that evoke the core story and themes of the production, and to create a powerful visual experience that pulls the viewer into the film’s world. In this episode we hear the stories of some of the most inventive people working in the field, including the creators of the iconic Mad Men sequence, the hilarious Zombieland opening and “rules” sequences, and the stirring end credits from Blue Valentine.

Oversights

Imagine, a car comes off the road at night and drives about 90 km / h against a tree. In the event margin between the status quo and the disaster, I’m trying to work my way to present a different view. In three minutes I had visualized the suffering of the machine and the people – the viewer can expect a symphony of destruction.

All injuries and damage to the car are based on two real accidents that have been played back. Of what I read from a database looking for the accident as follows:

“In the November 2008 21:10 clock a Ford Focus came in a slight left curve at 90 km / h above the roadway and crashed head-on a tree with a diameter of 25 cm. The driver was a 28-year-old white man with 13 injuries and was admitted to the local trauma center and remained there for 12 days. The injuries were among others a fracture of the femur, the ulna, the tibia and fibula, the kidney contusion, fracture of the hepatic artery and other injuries. ”

The shocking of these data is the story they tell to the smallest detail. You can read out that the driver was overweight or blood that has stuck to the airbag. That the tree is 92 inches penetrated into the engine compartment and has pushed the instrument panel in the driver’s compartment.
This emotional contact has been a big factor why I decided to take the data back to something and it only individual, striking out access.

Imagine a car travels at night at 90 km / h, swings off the road and crashes into a tree. Discovering the space between the status quo and the catastrophe, I try to give a new perspective. In three minutes, I Visualised the suffering of both the machine and the person involved – a symphony of destruction.

All injuries and damages on the car are based on two real-life accidents.
The accident reads as follows:

“One day at 21:10 AM in November 2008, a Ford Focus left the road at 90 km / h and crashed head-on against a tree with 25 cm diameter. The driver was a 28 year old white male who was Transported with 13 distinct injuries into the hospital and stayed there for days 12th Among the injuries were fractures of the femoral bone, ulna, shinbone and calf bone, contusion of the kidney, liver artery crevice. ”

It’s shocking how data can tell a story to detail. For instance, it tells you that the driver was obese and that blood stains were still on the airbag. The tree penetrated 92 cm into the engine compartment and cabin pressed the instrument panel in the driver’s.
This emotional impact was one of the reasons I did this film.

Cheers.

This is a personal project for my wife and kids.

A layer-by-layer deconstruction of “Flowing Meditation,” part of REBIRTH of GAEA, an epic visual tapestry delicately interweaving reflections on the environment and spirituality through the rich imagery of Greek Mythology.

My daughter Emma has had a deep connection to the environment for as long as I can remember. As she grew older and became enchanted with Greek Mythology, I decided to show my support for her interests by creating REBIRTH of GAEA, depicting her as the Goddess of Earth.

This piece debuts at ART EXPO New York on March 22, 2012.

The song is “You’re Too Late Satan” by Worm Is Green, an amazing Icelandic group mixing sparse electronic beats and glossy trip-hop threads. If you like the song, you can play it or purchase it here: last.fm/music/Worm+Is+Green/_/You’re+Too+Late+Satan
